Requirements
1. General System Requirements
Please make certain your system meets the following
criteria. Failure to do so may cause your browser to crash and will limit
access to some, if not all, Datastore features:
- Please use Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5.0 (or later), or Netscape Communicator/Navigator 4.08 (or later, with
the exception of VERSION 6) to access the Datastore. In most cases, you can determine your browser version by clicking on
"Help" --> "About..." on your browser's toolbar.
Please note that Internet Explorer 5.5 or later
must be used to access the "Copy To Clipboard" feature of the
Datastore.

AOL USERS: IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU USE AOL VERSION 5.0 OR LATER TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET AND VIEW THE DATASTORE WITH A SEPARATE BROWSER SESSION. THIS CAN BE ACHIEVED BY RUNNING INTERNET EXPLORER OR NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR STAND-ALONE APPLICATIONS WHILE CONNECTED TO AOL.

- JavaScript enabled in your web browser (in most cases, this is the
browser's default setting)
- Cookies enabled in your web browser (in most cases, this is the
browser's default setting)
- Java enabled in your web browser (Netscape
only, for Copy To Clipboard feature - COMING SOON)
- Caching enabled in your web browser (Netscape users please see details below)
- Screen resolution of 800 x 600 or
larger (1024x768 recommended)
- Color depth set to 16 bits/pixel or greater (recommended, for viewing
images)
- "Allow scripts to access clipboard"
enabled in your web browser (Internet Explorer 5.5 or later only, to access "Copy To
Clipboard" feature. The "Copy To Clipboard" feature is
available only when using Internet Explorer 5.5 or later)

PLEASE MAXIMIZE THE NEW BROWSER WINDOW THAT OPENS AFTER ENTERING THE DATASTORE.

Netscape Users - Cache Settings:
Please make certain your cache settings are set to the below parameters.
Memory Cache should be 1024 KBytes or more; Disk Cache should be 7680 KBytes or
more.
2. Additional
" Paid Subscription" System Requirements
- Java enabled in your web browser (for
BrowserKey authentication)
- While the Web is "platform transparent" the subscription area of the Datastore is not. To effectively implement our BrowserKey
authentication system, Mac users will need to use a Windows-emulating program like Virtual PC to view the Datastore data in a Windows environment, similar to the situation with our CDs. For initial subscribers who do not have a Windows-emulating program, we will be happy to provide Virtual PC (a $250 program) at no cost to you.
