Bookstore Terms and Conditions

All works are in fine condition, unless otherwise noted. Condition reports available upon request.

Measurements are given in inches and millimeters; height precedes width. Intaglio print measurements describe the distance between platemarks; lithograph and woodcut measurements are the distance to the widest point of the image.

Works will be sent on approval to individuals and institutions known to us. Works returned within seven days of receipt in the same condition as sent, fully insured and by prepaid, registered mail, will have the full purchase price refunded. All works are subject to prior sale and prices are subject to change. Shipping charges for unframed prints, photographs, and drawings are USD $7.50 per order for deliveries within the USA. Charges for paintings and framed works, and for shipments outside of the USA, will be quoted (Martin Gordon Gallery does not charge handling fees). Shipping is FREE when you pay online with your credit card or through PayPal!

We accept PayPal, checks, money orders, wire transfers, and Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. Our online shopping cart accepts PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. If you would rather pay by credit card via phone or fax, or would like to send us a check, money order, or wire transfer (note: add USD $25 to the amount due for a wire transfer), please contact us. Extended payment plans may be available; inquire for details.

Currencies Policy: We accept checks drawn on a non-US bank on non-U.S. funds for the following 14 different currencies only. We trust you to use the appropriate conversion rate for U.S. dollars on the day you issue the check IN YOUR OWN CURRENCY. If you use your own currency, please add USD $25 to your total amount due. If there is a generally accepted title for the print, that title is given at the beginning of the description following the artist’s name.

The primary medium is identified following the title. The terms used are intended only as a general description and may not include all the techniques employed by the artist.

Dates used in the Artstore entries refer to execution of the "master" or printing matrix. For prints made after 1949, it will be stated if the impression was pulled later than the execution of the master or matrix; for prints made prior to 1949, the impression may or may not be of a date contemporaneous with the execution of the master or matrix.

The term "signed" means that, in our opinion, the signature is by the artist and was made more or less contemporaneously with the creation of the print.

Whenever possible, we attempt to indicate the state of a print and will usually rely on this information found in the relevant catalogue raisonnè to determine this information.

For modern and contemporary prints, and for early prints when the data are available, every reasonable effort is made to identify relevant information concerning the extent of the edition. If the print is described as an "artist’s proof" or an "hors commerce" impression, the size of the regular edition is usually provided.

In some cases, we describe the quality of the impression of the print, ranging in descending order from "brilliant" and "superb" to "very good", "good" and "fair". These descriptions are intended merely as a general guide and should not be taken as a statement of fact, nor do they represent any description of the condition of the print.
